Even though I consider myself a Child and Family Photographer, and I LOVE photographing children of all ages pretty much from birth until they graduate high school. I really LOVE photographing tweens. Partly because I feel like that age group gets left out, and partly because ( even though there really is not much hype about tweens) I know from having my own four lovely children how big of a milestone being a tween is. Something about the ages 8-12... I noticed it with every one of my kids, they really started to grow up but they also still have that childhood imagination, love for life.. that magic. They do slowly start to lose that magic when they hit 13. At least with my kids anyway and they grow a sense of responsibility and realistic viewpoints which are all good things to have but I miss the magic, the wonderment. So hold on to that, being a tween is such a special time and I don't know why it gets left out in the stages of childhood because of its one of my favorites. Which is why I was so over the moon thrilled when Henley booked her portrait session! Her mom wanted me to capture her at this stage, and we captured her beautifully! First, we designed her portrait session at their consultation. We decided on a location and choose her wardrobe and theme of her portrait session. Henley, you are one gorgeous Tween and in just a few short years you will be a stunning young woman.
